Once you purchase a macbook, you get one of the best working laptops currently available. These laptops work very well, being able to juggle multiple task at once without slowing down or freezing. Then i learned that mac’s don’t get viruses. I have never had to buy any anti-adware software or for that matter any virus protection software at all. I have owned macs since 2008.  I’m not trying to say it’s impossible for a macbook to get a virus, but it is pretty good about preventing them. The only problem i found was that some types of software won’t work very well on macs. Many times though they will have alternate ways of running these programs.

Recently i got another PC computer to properly run some software programs i have. I felt utterly disappointed. I actually enjoyed windows 7, but i was completely disgusted with the computer itself. The device is a brand new 2012 acer laptop. My old macbook can completely demolish the new acer in every way. I was so frustrated with acer and their new computer. I’m not saying all PC laptops suck, just saying the one i have isn’t very good. So my tips for anyone reading this would be to make sure and research a device before you buy it. Don’t just listen to the sales men, unless it’s a mac their really nice.

Cell phone companies have been in the news here lately. Apple and at&t have been using some type of monitoring software. Their software that is only suppose to pick up signal data has been grabbing text messages as well. Their software began to resemble text monitoring software. There are two approaches to defining performance issues with SQL VMware:

1.         Within the context of a performance management process

Performance management requires that acceptable performance parameters be defined as Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The SLAs are then used to determine if database performance is meeting expectations. Any statistics that falls outside of SLA requirements become performance issues addressable with SQL performance tuning efforts.

2.         When no SLAs have been defined

Determining performance issues where no SLAs have been established is more subjective. In this case, baseline performance data captured during a period of acceptable performance are used to quantify deviations from this norm. Any parameters that fall outside of the defined norm are labeled as performance issues and open to SQL performance tuning. If there is no acceptable data to be used, then a clear statement of the perceived problem and its acceptable solution should be clearly defined before attempting any corrective measures.

Regardless of which situation exists, you must first eliminate changes in load as the sources of potential performance issues in your SQL VMware environment. Temporary situations like an increased number of users or increased demand from existing users both qualify as load changes. You will not need to attempt SQL performance tuning if your system is only experiencing load changes. Fall back on your organizations scalability plans before attempting to tune your databases.

Performance of virtualized database servers should not be compared to their previous non-virtualized states. Virtual and non-virtual environments may have significant differences in number and type of CPUs, amounts of storage, and amounts of storage capacity that can account for differing performance levels. The new virtualized SQL VMware environment will need to have new SLAs or baseline statistics defined for performance monitor success.

The Siri system that is integrated into the Iphone 4S was a real competitive advantage against other types of smart phones. Apple however, is already getting challenged by competitors to their new Siri. While Apple will most certainly create enough buzz for their product that people will continue to want Siri, their competitors have already created products similar to Siri.

You’ll find that there is an Android app that is similar to Siri and it is even sold within the Apple store. This app also has a female name and voice and goes by the name of Evi. It is an app rather than a built-in function, so it isn’t as fast but it does do the same basic things.

Of course, Apple has recently said that they will be shutting Evi down on the Apple store. They say they are doing this because the Android app is too similar to Siri and people might get confused. However, this should tell you that even Apple is nervous that their Siri might not be the only one of its kind to grab up market share. Even though many people might think that this is bad for Apple, you’ll find that it will probably end up being great for both Apple and Apple’s customers. This is going to force Apple to continue on with their great and innovative research and development and will lead to even better products. Any company can play the “me too” game, but its companies like Apple that spur on new and innovative growth within the technology sector.
